Above the rooftops of Berlin, the Chess Tigers met with Sven and Marina Noppes, Jonathan Carlstedt and Michael Busse in mid-March for a creative and goals workshop.
In addition to formulating a vision and mission, the focus was on developing and prioritizing goals. For this purpose, a roadmap with important fields of action was drawn up. At the top of the list of goals is the expansion of the online shop and the relaunch of the website www.chess-tigers.de , whose numerous contents are to be presented in a new look in the foreseeable future. In addition, the existing activities in the areas of the shop (Berlin) , school chess and tournament organization will be continued.
After a strenuous but productive day, the Chess Tigers team accepted the Emanuel Lasker Society's invitation to the World Chess Club . There, on the eve of St. Patrick's Day, the Green Chess Flowers Cup took place, with which the Lasker Society wants to build a chess cultural bridge from Germany to Ireland.
Judit Polgar was also a prominent guest. Polgar received the honorary award “Vera” (named after the first female world champion Vera Menchik) from Rebekka Schuster for her great chess successes. Anna Endress, also a board member of the Lasker Society, also honored the World Chess Club , represented by Maik Vedder, with the “Tartakower” award. This is awarded for the promotion of chess in public.
After a few games of chess in the sophisticated ambience of the World Chess Club, the group continued into Berlin's nightlife, where the Chess Tigers paid a short visit to Stranger Chess . Stranger Chess, organized by the designer Wolf Bōese, is a daily chess meeting on Schönhauser Allee in Berlin. The photos provide some impressions of the day.
