The Dresden grandmaster, born in 1935, has already become a living legend thanks to the many successes of his long career. He has won numerous strong tournaments and 11 GDR championship titles, setting a record for eternity. In the 1970-72 world championship cycle, he was narrowly and unluckily defeated by Bent Larsen, who then lost 0:6 to Fischer. On the DVD, Wolfgang Uhlmann presents 20 of his best games on video, including his 5 victories against world champions Botvinnik, Smyslov, Fischer, Anand and Khalifman, and relives many unforgettable travel experiences.
