We have all experienced the evils of time trouble in our chess lives. The clock is ticking, panic is building, and we make moves we wouldn't consider if we had more time on the clock. Whether we win or lose, all our efforts are wasted because we were unable to manage our time more efficiently. And what's worse, we repeat the mistake over and over again.

Time trouble is one of the most common bad habits of chess players. You can't really avoid spending time on complicated positions, but they are not the only problem. There are other factors, such as insufficient opening preparation, perfectionism, lack of confidence, etc. In this video course I want to help you deal with time management during your game. How to avoid it and how to react when you have no other choice. I divided this course into 2 parts. In the first part I focus on the methods and techniques that will help you avoid time trouble, such as: strict opening repertoire, smart use of chess intuition, recognizing critical moments, deciding between several possible moves, prophylactic thinking and how to avoid perfectionism in chess. In the second part the focus is on the moments in time trouble. How players of different strength and experience solve their problems at the board, but also why many of them (even strong grandmasters) fail. I cover topics such as: looking for opportunities in a worse position and finding the best ways out; how and why to keep emotions under control; complicated and complex positions; why to be careful with changes in a pawn structure in time trouble; and when and if to convert positions into (pawn) endgames.
