The book Center Forms is a strategy textbook for experienced chess players. Control of the center is of great importance in every game. Especially in the opening and middle game phases of the game, the chess player is faced with the question of how to control, close or open the center.

\r\nThe typical plans for the pawn structures mentioned are systematically explained using grandmaster games. The corresponding section of the game is commented on in particular detail.
\r\nDifferent forms of centers can merge into one another. These transitions are also explained.
\r\nThe last chapter has been added compared to the first edition. \r\nThis chapter analyzes selected games of the world champion Kramnik. Isolated pawns, doubled pawns and backward pawns are not discussed here. The analysis of these pawn formations is covered in the pawn weaknesses by Uhlmann/Schmidt.
