As head coach of the English Chess Federation, I work a lot with up-and-coming players and I see time and time again how typical mistakes are repeated. In order to analyze these mistakes in more detail, I examined many games of players between 1600 and 1900. This DVD shows how to recognize and avoid typical mistakes. I have sorted the mistakes according to motives such as "miscalculating forced variations", "being too materialistic" or "king safety" etc. and illustrated each one with several examples. In between there are always tests in which the viewer is asked to find the best move in certain positions. A very good way to improve your skills in the middle game and end game.
