A Sicilian Stunner - The Kalashnikov

The Kalashnikov Variation is one of my favorite weapons in the Sicilian. It is similar to the Sveshnikov Variation, but there is much less theory to learn. This increasingly popular opening is easy to learn because most of the time the black pieces can be developed quickly and smoothly. When I was considering which variation to play in the Sicilian, Kalashnikov fit the bill in every way. Black has many typical ideas and often attacks. All variations have been thoroughly tested so that the viewer can play this opening with confidence. The starting position for this video series is after 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 e5 and this position offers Black a complete repertoire. Interactive questions can be used to test knowledge and understanding of the material.
