The Torre Attack after 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 g6 3.Bg5

We have the Mexican Carlos Torre to thank for the Torre Attack, marked by the opening moves 1. d4, 2. Nf3 and 3. Bg5. As the theory of the main lines after 1.d4 in combination with c2-c4 has become increasingly extensive, solid systems have regained popularity in the last decade, which require comparatively little concrete knowledge of variations and are based more on an understanding of the basic plans.
