Bestseller - gut geeignet für (fortgeschrittene) Anfänger

Laszlo Orban soll laut Klappentext 5 Millionen Schachbücher verkauft haben - kaum zu glauben! Nicht umsonst ist dieses Buch eines der Bestseller der Schachsparte des humboldt-Verlages.
Man kann es als Anfänger lesen, wenn man noch gar keine Kenntnisse über das Spiel hat, aber auch als Fortgeschrittener. Das Buch behandelt nicht nur die Zugweisen der Figuren, sondern auch fortgeschrittene Motive wie Läuferpaar, Pattfalle, Unterverwandlung etc. Das Buch dürfte daher bis ca. 1200 DWZ geeignet sein.
Das Buch ist relativ klein, dafür aber recht dick (328 Seiten). Insgesamt ist es ausführlich und verständlich.

Einige Merkwürdigkeiten sind in dem Buch durchaus erhalten. So spricht Orban nicht von der Linie (a-Linie, b-Linie...), sondern vom "Weg". Außerdem nutzt er eine übertrieben kriegerische Sprache ("feindliches Lager", "Umwandlungskampf") etc. Aber das tut dem Werk insgesamt keinen Abbruch. Daher eine klare Empfehlung!
