The Kasparov Gambit
The basic position of the Kasparov Gambit can arise after 1.d4, after 1.Nf3 and after 1.c4, which many players like. After the usual move sequence 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 c5 3.Nf3 cxd4 4.Nxd4 e5!? 5.Nb5 d5 6.cxd5 Bc5 a very sharp position arises. In this video of the 60 minutes series, FIDE Senior Trainer Andrew Martin takes the game for the black side and shows with current games and masterpieces from Kasparov how difficult it is to defend the white position. He shows a practical gambit that helps players of all levels to win more games. This variation is ideal when you have to win with black. White cannot refuse the gambit because then Black is immediately in a good position. White must accept the challenge and fight!
