Lars Günther has been playing chess in a club since he was eleven. After studying humanities, he has been working as a freelance editor and author since 2001 and has contributed to around 60 non-fiction books and encyclopedias. He has also been leading chess clubs in kindergarten, primary school and secondary schools for many years. After searching for a long time for a chess textbook that presents the material in an order that makes sense for chess lessons, he decided to write one himself.
