The 4...Nf6 Caro-Kann

The dynamic 4...Nf6 variation in the Caro-Kann (after 1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 dxe4 4.Nxe4) has not been fashionable in recent years, but the theory of 4...Bf5 and 4...Nd7 now extends well into the middlegame. Therefore 4...Nf6 offers Caro-Kann followers the golden opportunity to push the opponents back to their own resources, and this is where even top grandmasters can make mistakes. In this DVD, Nigel Davies examines the Bronstein-Larsen system (5.Nxf6+ gxf6) as well as the Tartakower system (5.Nxf6+ exf6) and shows how the double f-pawn, which arises in both lines, gives Black numerous aggressive plans and ideas.
