The board

This was made by Rechapados Ferrer using high-quality black dyed poplar wood and ash root - here in the format 50cmx50cm (field size 50mm).

This beautiful chessboard is the model that can be seen in the series during the final of the 1968 USSR Chess Championship. In this game, the protagonist, Beth Harmon, defeats the Russian world champion (see video).
