The cumbersome and error-prone input by hand is no longer necessary and you can test and try out what you have learned straight away, so that the analog and digital worlds merge directly into one another.

This is the last result of the collaboration between the Bremen chess trainer and analyst FM Claus Dieter Meyer (1946-2020) and GM Dr. Karsten Müller. CDMeyer wanted to finish off by producing a work on endgames.
The focus is on topics such as checkmate, stalemate, Zugzwang and rook endgames. The focus is on examples in which magic is combined with instruction, so that many rules of thumb and, even more importantly, exceptions are also presented.

"Claus Dieter Meyer and Dr. Karsten Müller take the reader on a fantastic journey. It is not to the center of the earth and not to the stars. The goal of the expedition is to create magical moments in chess endgames. Accompany Luis Engel's king as he marches across half the board. Admire the elegance of a Magnus Carlsen with bishops of different colors. Marvel at the blackout of a silicon monster against one of its own kind.

CD Meyer has set out to find these examples in his inimitable style. Since the beginning of his coaching career, he has been driven by the desire to discover punch lines, the joy of exploring deeper sequences of moves and the search for the truth in seemingly hopeless situations.

The latest games from his circle were incorporated into this work, as were the games of the world champions. Studies have equal status alongside rough diamonds from the top league. What all examples have in common, however, is the flashing spark, the original idea, and sometimes even a cascade of brilliant maneuvers. Captured by CD Meyer and put on paper by Dr. Karsten Müller....The book is recommended for all players, learners and trainers as a valuable collection of material and as entertaining reading."
