The 10 best ways to improve your playing strength

A game of chess is an intellectual competition, a duel of the brains.
Luck and chance play no role, but the right strategy and methodology decide between victory and defeat. Nowadays there is a wealth of books, videos and websites that can quickly overwhelm ambitious amateur players. This is exactly where the guide comes in and answers the key question of every chess player: How can I improve my playing strength? "The Chess Booster" gets to the heart of what ambitious amateurs need to know and gives them 10 tips to help them optimize their skills. With the help of QR codes, numerous games and positions can also be analyzed and tested online.

The book is aimed at all ambitious recreational players who want to improve their chess skills. The book contains the collected tips from the podcast guests as well as other tips from all over the world.

By the way, it is expressly a reading book. This means that although the book contains around 60 diagrams, you can read through the book fluently and you don't necessarily need a chessboard.

The foreword to the book was written by two-time German champion GM Niclas Huschenbeth.

Michael Busse has been running the leading German chess podcast "Schachgeflüster" since 2019. In more than 180 episodes, he has interviewed numerous chess stars and collected their best tips for improving in chess. He is the founder and administrator of the Schachgeflüster Facebook group with over 3,000 chess enthusiasts, an author for Schach-Magazin64 and works as a lecturer for the ChessSports Association.
