New ideas in the Najdorf Sicilian

'New Ideas in the Najdorf Sicilian - a Power Play 18 Update' complements Daniel King's popular DVD 'Sicilian Najdorf - a Black Repertoire', which was released last year. An opening as dynamic and popular as the Najdorf Sicilian is constantly evolving. On this download, Daniel King updates lines he introduced on his DVD and answers reader questions about lines that were not part of the original repertoire. These are the lines examined on the update:

• 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 a6 6. h3 e5 7. Nde2
• 5….a6 6. Bc4 in conjunction with the English Attack (Be3, f3 etc.)
• 5…a6 6. Be3, the variation with …a5
• 5…a6 6 Le2 and 9 Te1
• 5 f3 (instead of 5 Nc3)

It is not necessary to know the original Najdorf DVD to understand the variations examined here – but it helps, as these variations form part of a comprehensive repertoire.
